I am certain that the snowy owl is behind all of this.
I write code better than I write documents.
I like awk.
Microsoft Excel is probably a decent tool. But it still needs learning.
I could swear a pivot table is probably just what I need. If only I understood what it was.

Awk is very useful as a tool, but it's downright lousy as a programming language. It gets very messy very quickly, which makes it impossible to debug. If you find yourself writing pseudocode for your awk script, it means it's probably time to find a real programming language.
